Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition
June 13, 2010
The highest compliment one could give indie hit Zeno Clash would be that it’s unlike anything we see in big budget game development today. Chilean developer ACE Team has crafted a unique story, style and gameplay mechanic the marketing department would never approve of because the guys in research say we all want more steroidal space marines. The game, previously released on Valve’s Steam network, isn’t perfect by any means, but its effort to create something original almost makes up for any faults. Read more
OtterBox Defender Review
May 30, 2010
I love my iPhone. In fact, I have no idea how I ever survived without Apple’s magic and revolutionary cel phone. That said, if there is any drawback to the device, it is very susceptible to drops. And when drops occur, bad things happen… very bad things. Luckily for you, there is a way to make your iPhone nearly bulletproof. Say hello to the Otterbox Defender. Read more
Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter Review
May 7, 2010
Shooter fans may look back fondly on the adventures of Sam “Serious” Stone. Sure he was more than just a bit of a Duke Nukem knock off, but the games had their own charm. Players were pitted against massive hordes of foes at any given time and survival did not come easily. Sam would shout one-liners that would make the Duke proud as his handy shotgun tore through the enemy onslaughts. Now, nearly eight years later, Serious Sam is back with an HD remake that includes new enemies and new challenges. The question is; are the new additions enough to warrant another visit?

Battlefield: Bad Company 2
March 18, 2010
The Battlefield series certainly isn’t new to the consoles, going all the way back to Battlefield Modern Combat 2 on the original Xbox. Despite a presence on the past two generations of hardware, the franchise has never quite measured up to its PC sibling. This held true for Battlefield: Bad Company, an interesting but forgettable foray by DICE into single player design. Thankfully, Bad Company 2 smashes the console stigma. No longer does it feel like DICE is experimenting with how crack into the living room, they’ve simply given gamers what they always wanted: a genuine Battlefield experience. Read more

Assassin’s Creed 2
January 25, 2010

Ubisoft’s second entry into the acclaimed Assassin’s Creed franchise promised to fix a lot of the complaints gamers had with the first game. Did they succeed? After playing through the game in its entirety I can safely they have most definitely succeeded. I was not the biggest fan of the first game; I found it to be rather boring and very repetitive. However Assassin’s Creed 2 offers an enjoyable gaming experience crafted around an interesting story. Read more
Bayonetta
January 17, 2010

Bayonetta has been attracting the media’s attention for months now, but is there any substance behind the sexuality? Find out in our review of the first big release of 2010! I would like to point out that this review is based on the Xbox 360 version of the game; not the PS3. I’ve added some notes on the PlayStation 3 port at the end so be sure to read those if you’re looking at the game on Sony’s system. Read more
PixelJunk Shooter
January 2, 2010
A few years ago, you would have never caught me anticipating–much less spending my time playing a download only title. Q-Games came in and changed the way myself and multitudes of others think by delivering high quality products that are simple to play, fun, challenging to master, and deliver more value than disk-based counterparts. One of these games, PixelJunk Monsters, is so good that fans are still begging for more content even after an expansion pack and a PSP remake. In their latest attempt at taking over all of my free time, Q-Games delivers PixelJunk Shooter. Once again, the PlayStation Network has another classic, original title. Read more
Borderlands Review
November 24, 2009

Borderlands is probably best described as a shoot n’ loot; that is to say, you shoot a lot of things and stash whatever is worth carrying. The game is an interesting and successful merge between an action RPG and a first person shooter. Read more
