Europa: 1400
February 28, 2003
Europa 1400 is different. It is a very different way of portraying game that follows the life a person during the High Middle Ages (around 1400) and follows them through events like the Reformation and the Wars between England and France. The introduction does an excellent job of setting the game up your (the character’s) place in this new world as he leaves for town to find his future. It is a game of RPG skills and resource management. There is not another game on the market that matches this particular program’s unique design and gameplay. Read more
DAoC: A Newbies Guide
February 28, 2003
When beginning to play a MMOG (Massive Multiplayer Online Game), it can be a very frustrating experience. In the past, I have played a few titles and didn’t really know where to go or what to do. In the end, I ended up quitting and giving up on MMOGs. However, if played correctly and if you have a general idea of what to do, these titles can be a blast. Recently, I joined the CVGames MMOG Crew in Dark Age of Camelot. If you aren’t familiar with the title, it is a 3D MMOG set in the world of Camelot. There are three separate Realms: Albion, Hibernia, and Midgard. These are all warring factions. Later in the game, you will have the opportunity to face-off against any of the other Realms in RvR (Realm Vs. Realm). Read more
Super Monkey Ball Jr.
February 27, 2003
One of the first things that you’ll notice about Super Monkey Ball Jr. when you first turn it on is how much it feels like the GameCube original. I mean that in a good way (as opposed to feeling old or unoriginal). Realism did such a great job that, to an extent, the graphics, music, sound effects, menus, and even the controls feel a lot like the GameCube game. It’s amazing what Realism has done with the help of Amusement Vision and Sega. They must be technical masters. Super Monkey Ball is a game that you wouldn’t think would translate very well to the Game Boy Advance, but Realism did a great job. Read more

Skies of Arcadia Legends
February 20, 2003
Any Sega fan will tell you that the Dreamcast was in fact a magnificent gaming console. Unfortunately, the sales numbers were pretty under whelming, but the DC did have some outstanding games. One such game was Overworks’ Skies of Arcadia, a wonderfully refreshing RPG that deviated a bit from the Final Fantasies of the time. Not many gamers got to experience Skies which is really a shame because it is a fantastic game. However, in a brilliant move, Sega decided to bring the game to Nintendo’s GameCube. It is essentially the same as it was on the DC, but there are a few enhancements in Skies of Arcadia Legends that make it an even better game than it originally was. Read more
