WOW Beta Wonders

April 21, 2004

Well, beta testing can be fun, but can also have it’s drawbacks. One drawback to WOW is that some of the characters are just totally under appreciated and weak. Before I did any reading on the characters, I just jumped in and started with a Shaman class toon. Things so far seem to be going well, with fights taking some life out of me but not killing me. Well, a fellow WOW Beta Tester told me to look into the blogs about the Shaman, so I did. Read more

Sam Fisher, one of the most beloved characters on the Xbox, has returned to provide more stealth fun. Accessory makers have made all types computer peripherals targeted towards gamers such as mice, keyboards, headsets, speakers, and more. However, there hasn’t been much in the way of mouse pads. WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$

April 18, 2004

The original WarioWare, released on the Game Boy Advance, was a surprisingly addictive hit. It was extremely unique and weird. It helps to understand what the original GBA game was about before I start discussing the GameCube iteration. You can read the GBA review here, or just read the synopsis below. Read more

WoW Beta Diary: Beta Pains

April 15, 2004

Do you know what sucks? Having to download a 2GB installer file to play Word of WarCraft. Do you know what sucks more? Having to re-download a 2GB installer file to play a newer version that is harder to hack into. So I left the Bit Torrent installer running all night and it was ready to go this morning. However, after installing the game—which seemed to take a long time—I logged in. They have a new patching system in place. Thankfully the patch they included was just a test so there was nothing more to download. Read more

Right now, most of the hoopla around star publisher UbiSoft seems to revolve around their fantastic new title Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. However, the company has also recently published another high quality title that may be somewhat overshadowed by the Splinter Cell name. WoW Beta Diary: Grouping 101

April 14, 2004

Since this is a Massively Multiplayer Online Game, grouping is a big part of the title. While I am not sure how the game will play later on, I do like the fact that in World of Warcraft soloing is an option. However, with a group, you can accomplish much more. Unfortunately, titles like Final Fantasy XI Online and Dark Age of Camelot require grouping to get anything accomplished. But I have had enough of playing alone in WoW and searched for a group to play with. Read more

Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004

April 11, 2004

Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004 is a sim that’s dedicated to one thing, and one thing only. Trains. No budgeting, no competition with other industries, no crazy balancing of interests. The guys at Auran are interested in only one thing, and that is those crazy trains. Be sure and count how many times I use that word in this review, because I imagine it’s going to be a lot.
