GameTap also surpasses a key milestone today by offering more than 400 video games, making it by far the largest collection of on-demand games on the internet. MS Updates the Backwards Compatibility List

Microsoft has announced that they have added three more games to the list of Backwards Compatible titles on the Xbox 360. These titles include the popular shooter Black, Star War Battlefront II, and World Soccer Winning Eleven 9. Unfortunately, there is still no word on when or if a larger list of titles will be coming anytime soon. There are still several classic Xbox games that have yet to be included on the backwards compatible list for the 360. Read more

Inside the Nintendo Revolution

Nintendo has already gone on record by saying the company does not plan to directly compete with the power of either the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3. This was clearly seen when they announced that the Revolution would not support HD because it would not be available to a large number of players. So what does the revolution do that the “big boys” of Sony and Microsoft do not? The revolution will be small, quiet, offer cheap and easy development, be very affordable, and change the way you control videogames. Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2

Digital Devil Saga 2 is an improvement on its predecessor in many ways, but yet this demonic RPG sequel is the epitome of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. New features are added and systems are upgraded, but none in a way that breaks or massively changes the core gameplay–only improves it. If you enjoyed the previous game in the cult RPG series Shin Megami Tensei, then you already know this is must buy. Fight Night Round 3

Fight Night Round 3 is, as far as I can remember, the first game I’ve ever bought that can be categorized as a sports game. That said, it should also be categorized as a fighting game, because that’s exactly what it feels like. This review is only met to cover the next-generation version of Fight Night Round 3. Cheaper Games for the Revolution?

Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, has gone on record stating that games for Nintendo’s upcoming Revolution console will not cost as much as Xbox360 games, and presumably PS3 games. “I cannot imagine any first party title could be priced for more than $50,” says Mr. Iwata. The Revolution console itself is also supposedly going to launch at a much lower price point than the Xbox360 and PS3 making it the clear winner for the gamer on a budget. It is worth noting, however, that while Mr. Iwata has stated that he cannot foresee first party titles costing more than fifty bucks, he made no mention of third party titles. It is entirely possible that other publishers will still mark up their games on the Revolution. Read more
