No WAR Until the Fall

EA Mythic has announced that their upcoming MMO Warhammer Online will be delayed until this fall. In their newsletter, company VP and the man behind the game, Mark Jacobs, explained the reasons why with this: “During the most recent phase of beta testing, two things have become clear. One was that our key innovations – Public Quests, Tome of Knowledge and Realm vs. Realm combat – were all coming along extremely well, as was the first stage of our innovative crafting system. The second, that the game would benefit from additional iteration time as well as adding a layer of polish or two. Fortunately, as part of Electronic Arts, we are able to do just that. Sega Sends Xbox to War

SEGA of America, Inc. today announced that Universe at War: Earth Assault for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft has shipped to retailers in North America. Developed by Petroglyph, this combat-intensive real-time strategy (RTS) game thrusts players into an epic struggle to prevent total annihilation of life on planet Earth. Universe at War: Earth Assault supports Microsoft’s Games for Windows – LIVE initiative and allows cross-platform play between Windows-based PC and Xbox 360. In an effort to even the playing field, cross-platform play will be made available via free download in early April 2008. Read more

Beginning Friday, March 28, fans 18 years and older will be able to participate in a number of online events including a 72-hour Play & Win Sweepstakes where every hour winning operatives that register and play are awarded with special prize packages. Winners may receive such prizes as customized Rainbow Six Vegas 2 bowling shirts or Microsoft Points. TiQal Invades XBLA

“TiQal,” a new challenge sure to delight fans of the puzzle game genre, is launching on Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. GMT (1:00 a.m. PDT). With graphics inspired by the ancient Mayan culture, “TiQal” takes players on an epic journey to save the village of the same name.
