Upon seeing a screenshot of War World, I must say I was pretty darn impressed. “This is an arcade game?” I thought to myself, because this mech combat title is probably one of the best looking games on the XBLA, and could even pass for an original Xbox title. But a warning for anyone that dare purchase it, War World will rear its ugly head as not quite a game, but rather a hollow husk of one. A pretty husk yes, but a vacuous one none the less. It is as if the developers attempted to squeeze a mech game designed for consoles into the arcade, and it’s pretty obvious that a new strategy is needed for putting the genre on the service properly, rather than just including the bare minimum. THQ today announced the company’s first-ever cheerleading video game, All Star Cheer Squad, has shipped to retail stores throughout North America exclusively for Wii for $39.99. The game is also scheduled to be available for Nintendo DS next month. All Star Cheer Squad is Rated E for Mild Lyrics on both Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS. Cooking Mama World Kitchen — Quick Look

Majesco today announced that Cooking Mama World Kitchen for Wii has gone gold and will be available on November 18. Developed by Cooking Mama Limited, the sequel to the celebrated Wii original features hilarious kitchen mini-games, all-new 3D graphics, more than 50 recipes and co-operative cooking play. Cooking Mama World Kitchen is still pending for rating but is expected to be E. The game will be released on November 18 for the Wii. Read more
Bejeweled Twist Launch Event

PopCap Games, the leading developer and publisher of casual games, will be shuttering its website (www.popcap.com) for six hours prior to the formal unveiling and official launch of Bejeweled Twist today, at a gala celebration in downtown Seattle. The site will reopen at approximately 7:00 p.m. PDT that evening after going offline six to seven hours earlier – during which time the site will undergo a revolutionary makeover to celebrate the arrival of PopCap’s biggest game to date. When the site reopens, it will be co-hosting a live webcast of the Bejeweled Twist launch event being held at Seattle’s Experience Music Project museum. (The webcast will also be available via AllGames.com) At approximately 7:40 p.m., Bejeweled Twist for PC will become available via web download at www.popcap.com, as the game officially launches to the world.
