Motorstorm Pacific Rift

Last year, Sony published an awesome arcade racing title known as Motorstorm. The title was released with very limited content and features. Despite this, players fell in love with the awesome graphics and exciting gameplay. Sony continued to improve the franchise by releasing several updates to the title. Although some of the updates were paid updates, Motorstorm gave PlayStation 3 owners something to brag about. Now a year later, the sequel to Motorstorm has been released. Known as Pacific Rift, the title is more feature inclusive than the original game and promises to offer even more down the road. But does this make the title worthy of a purchase? Read more
Fable 2

Peter Molyneux promised a lot with the original Fable. When it finally released, what we got was a great game, but it fell short of delivering on most of the promises. With Fable 2, we are pleased to report that most of what was promised is in the game and works extremely well. Read more

Epic’s lead designer, Cliff Bleszinski, made some pretty bold claims at GDC earlier this year about the then upcoming title Gears of War 2. He stated that the game would be bigger, better and more badass than the original. So was he right? Or was he just playing company hype man? Read more
FFXI Expands Again

Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix interactive entertainment products in North America, today announced the development of three upcoming downloadable scenario expansions for their marquee MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) game, FINAL FANTASY XI. The creation of these three expansions is led by Masato Kato, who created the stories and scenarios for FINAL FANTASY XI and its first expansion pack, Rise of the Zilart. Read more

Guitar Hero World Tour

Guitar Hero World Tour is Activision’s attempt to counter the changes that Rock Band brought to the music genre. Instead of only including guitar and bass gameplay, players will now be able to form a complete band and sing, play drums, rock out on guitar, and strum away on the bass. To further distinguish themselves from the competition, Developer Neversoft has updated the visuals, added a touch sensor to the bottom of the fret bar, on the guitar, and created their own drum kit with an extra note. Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the addition of nine new tracks to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content including brand new material from The Killers’ soon to be released album Day and Age. On the day of the album’s release Rock Band fans will be able to purchase the band’s new track “Spaceman” through the Rock Band Music Store as well as The Killers’ previously released tracks “Mr. Brightside” and “Smile Like You Mean It.” All three songs will be available for download as individual Rock Band tracks as well as in a 3-pack. Tracks will join “When You Were Young” already featured in the Rock Band Music Store catalog. Read more

Rockstar Games is proud to announce that the eagerly anticipated first episode of downloadable content, Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned, will be coming to the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system via Xbox LIVE online entertainment network. Available exclusively on Xbox LIVE worldwide on February 17th 2009, The Lost and Damned will feature all new content and is the first of two episodes announced for Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360. Developed by Certain Affinity, known for their previous work on the Halo series, Age of Booty is a downloadable real-time multiplayer strategy game that puts players in command of a pirate ship with the goal of destroying your enemies and capturing towns for your pirate faction.
