Call of Duty Map Pack Breaks Records

Armies of Call of Duty fans have heeded the call and responded with more than one million downloads of the Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 from Activision and developer Treyarch, during its first weekend of availability (March 19-22) on Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network. 
 
Call of Duty: World at War is rated “M” (Mature) by the ESRB for Intense Violence, Strong Language, Blood and Gore and the Map Pack is available for 800 Microsoft Points, on Xbox Live, or $9.99 on the PlayStation Network, for the PlayStation 3. Due to the Mature Rating on the title, parents are strongly advised to review the content before allowing younger players to play the Map Pack or the Call of Duty: World at War title. Read more

PlayStation 2 Now $99

After selling over 50 million consoles in the United States, Sony continues to expand the life of the PlayStation 2 console by lowering the price to the extremely consumer friendly price point of $99. Sony will begin offering the new price at retail beginning on April lol1, 2009. While considered normally to be a day you do not announce anything major, Sony has made this price point official. So we do not feel this will be some type of elaborate April Fools joke. Read more

In this farewell edition of the Wii-kly Update (more on that below*), we’re pleased to announce a pair of excellent games based around completely opposite vocations. Newly available on the Virtual Console™ is Super Punch Out!! , the classic boxing title that pits players against tough pugilist rivals such as Bald Bull. Speaking of baldness, the unique new WiiWare game Bonsai Barber invites players to take off the gloves and work their clippers instead, giving new hairstyles to a colorful cast of fruits and vegetables. Activision and Neversoft have revealed that the latest DLC for Guitar Hero World Tour has been unleashed with The Queen Pack. This pack features “C-lebrity,” “Fat Bottomed Girls” and “We Are The Champions.” All tracks are now available for PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, and Wii.  The Queen Track Pack can be downloaded from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 440 Microsoft Points and from the PlayStation Store for $5.49.  The songs are also available as singles for 160 Microsoft Points, $1.99 from the PlayStation Store or 200 Wii Points.
