It’s official; Microsoft has dropped the price on the Xbox 360. The 120GB Elite model received a $100 price cut to match Sony’s $299 price point. The 60GB pro model, which is being phased out, will set you back just $249 while the basic Arcade package holds steady at $199. Read more

Castle Crashers DLC Tomorrow

Hit XBLA title Castle Crashers will be getting more DLC tomorrow. The pack, called the Necromantic Pack, will be available for 160 Microsoft Points and brings with it two new characters, a new animal orb (the dragonhead) and two new weapons. Why The PS3 Will Ultimately Fail To Win This Generation

In late July our fearless leader wrote a piece on why he believes Sony’s PlayStation 3 will eventually take the crown from the Xbox 360 this console generation. The editorial does make some strong points in Sony’s favor, but it also presents some misinformation when it comes to putting the consoles head to head. Microsoft is currently the leader in this generation and I’m not so sure that Sony can change that any time soon. Read more

New Mass Effect DLC Available

The new Mass Effect DLC is now available on Xbox LIVE. Entitled Pinnacle Station the new addition will cost gamers just 400 Microsoft Points and provide 2 to 3 hours of gameplay. The only requirement for accessing the content in game is that your character must be a Spectre. Happy hunting!

Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 2 Out Now!!

LEGO Rock Band DS Revealed

Warner Bros Interactive, LEGO, Harmonix, and MTV Games today revealed new details for their upcoming Nintendo DS title Lego Rock Band. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, LEGO Rock Band for DS combines the LEGO style of humor with Rock Band gameplay to introduce a portable Rock Band experience that anyone can play without the need for peripherals to be purchased. The game also includes a multiplayer feature that allows up to four players to participate in local wireless multiplayer gameplay. Read more

QuakeCon 2009: RAGE Public Preview

Ahhh. Another QuakeCon has come and gone, leaving me with familiar sensations. Bruises on my arm from carrying cases of Bawls to my car, a sore shoulder from one of the swag mobs I foolishly entered, and a feeling of general queasiness from eating Dominoes pizza that’s spent several hours in a warming cabinet in a hotel lobby. There’s also excitement! Well not really, but I can say that the RAGE gameplay demo did have me walking away with cautious optimism.

Let me preface this article by saying that this game is too early in development to judge. It’s clear that the content shown to us at QuakeCon was cherry-picked from a game that’s still waiting to come together. Watching the action on screen confirms some things, give reassurances, and ultimately leaves you with more questions than when you walked into the room. So let’s get on with my impressions.
