Olivia Munn Hosts Lost Planet 2 Party

Attack of the Show’s own Olivia Munn has been revealed as the host for the upcoming “Kill Big for Charity” Lost Planet 2 Event taking place in LA on May 6, 2010. The combined celebrity and community tournament is the final chapter in Capcom’s month long “Kill Big for Charity” campaign where community members were called into action to support a good cause and download the newest Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demo on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. Capcom, in partnership with Music for Relief, has promised in return to donate $25,000 to charity if the demo hits 1.5 million downloads. The tournament on May 6 th, comprised of celebrities, press, community and super-fans will compete in a variety of Lost Planet 2 multiplayer modes. The victorious team will then get the honor of choosing the charity from a list of Music for Relief partnerships. Read more

Sega Sends 73 Pink Slips

Oh economy, how we hate you. Despite signs of recovery in the market, Sega has been hit with layoffs this last week. Sega cut 37 employees in their London offices and 36 in the San Francisco office–for a total reduction of 73 employees.

40 Million for Xbox 360

Microsoft has revealed they have sold over 40 million Xbox 360 Consoles worldwide since their 2005 launch of the platform. While it is possible half of those consoles are due to the dreaded “Red Ring of Death,” the number is still quite impressive. In addition, Microsoft has revealed its third-quarter financial sales results ending March 2010. The company saw its Xbox division generate $1.67 billion in revenue, a 2% increase compared to the same quarter the prior year. Microsoft sold 1.5 million Xbox 360 consoles worldwide, a 12% decrease from the holiday quarter. Read more
