2013 Overall Game of the Year
Winner: Ni no Kuni The Wrath of the White Witch
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a magical journey that delivers some of the best voice actors, engrossing music, challenging combat, and an animated adventure that you won't forget. This is the best Role Playing Game of this generation and is worthy of mention amongst the all-time great titles ever released.
Runner-up: The Last of Us
The Last of Us is a groundbreaking title from the creators of Nathan Drake and the Uncharted series. The masterminds at Developer Naughty Dog are able to craft an engaging story with awesome action sequences and give players a reason to carry on in their quest. I won't give away any of the plot but just be sure you stick to it until the end. The Last of Us is one wild ride you won't soon forget and will leave you begging for more. The only negative part of the game is the lack of a PlayStation 4 version that we can only hope will be resolved by PlayStation Now.
Runner-up: Bioshock Infinite
The word Art is defined as the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination. For many, Art and videogames don’t go together. Videogames are seen as a game that requires pressing buttons and little or no thought. This argument could have been made many years ago but not so much anymore. With titles like The Walking Dead, Journey, and now Bioshock Infinite showing that games can be art. They can exist as interactive novels, places to explore with new forms of communication, and they can use conventional “game mechanics” and infuse a deep and thought provoking story. The latter is what Bioshock Infinite brings to the table.
