2013 RPG of the Year
Winner: Ni No Kuni: The Wrath of the White Witch
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a magical journey that delivers some of the best voice actors, engrossing music, challenging combat, and an animated adventure that you won't forget. This is the best Role Playing Game of this generation and is worthy of mention amongst the all-time great titles ever released.
Runner-up: The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds
The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds delivers in giving gamers more from the world of the Super Nintendo Classic The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past. This time around, our hero, Link, has a special ability he gains to morph into a 2D object on a wall. This creates a ton of interesting scenarios and provides countless hours of fun puzzles to solve throughout the dungeons and rest of the world. This Zelda title blends the best of old school with new gameplay mechanics to create one of the most enjoyable experiences of the year. This title is highly recommended.
Runner-up: Fire Emblem Awakening
When talking about Fire Emblem, I have images of the game played on my Game Boy Micro console. It was here where I first fell in love with the franchise. Luckily for players, the series has returned to the Nintendo 3DS and gives the console one of the most enjoyable turn-based games I have played in years. In Fire Emblem, players take control of one of several units and must lead them, strategically, to victory. This normally involves destroying all of the enemy units. Be careful, when a unit dies in Fire Emblem, it is gone for good! You will be playing this one for hours on end.
