As we speculated last week, Bungie's upcoming Destiny will not see a release in 2013. The title is set to be released in 2014 on Xbox 360, Xbox 720, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.
Bungie plans on revealing the world of Destiny as it is released in multiple installments over a 10 year period. Activision is rumored to still be counting the money they are going to make on the next big First Person Shooter. You can see more about Destiny with the reveal video below:
Kotaku got an exclusive insider telling them more about the next Xbox, Xbox 720--codenamed Durango, that will require the new Kinect 2.0 to be plugged in and calibrated for the new console to function. This means that Microsoft will have a camera and microphone that will be active every second you have your new Xbox online. Call me a crazy but this sorta disturbs me as someone who values his privacy.
The game showed almost a year ago, Infinity Blade: Dungeons, alongside the iPad 3, has been put on hold as Epic Games and Impossible Studios, who were part of Big Huge Games and Kingdoms of Amalur, are no longer working on the project and no longer a part of Epic. Last August, Sean Dunn the Impossible Studios Studio Director said: "Epic Games has truly embraced this stellar collection of developers who were displaced by the closing of Big Huge Games They have looked after us with complete care, giving us all the tools and resources we need to make a lot of gamers happy."
An unnamed "Microsoft Insider" has a comment in regard to Sony getting to debut the PlayStation 4 first: "Victory will go not to those who make the most noise, but those who make the most impact. The war won't be won by producing the most powerful system."
Sounds like Sony has really scared people at Microsoft and they will be scrambling to recover from Sony debuting their system first.
Sony last revealed a PlayStation console in 2005 at E3. At that show, Nintendo stole the headlines with the long lines for the Wii. Could this be the reason why they are showing off the new console early? Take a look at the teaser video below and lets countdown to February 20!
