QuakeCon 2013 dates have been announced for August 1 through 4 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Like in years past, QuakeCon will be open to the public free of charge.
Arstechnica has reported that the long-running Nintendo Power magazine is ceasing publication since beginning its magazine run all the way back in 1988.
On Twitter, Chris Hoffman, Senior Editor at NP, said "sad to see it go" and further confirmation came from NP Writer Phil Theobald saying "something pretty sweet planned for the final issue." These tweets have been deleted since posting.

Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy, and some consider the father of the JRPG, is on to his next project, The Last Story. My first thoughts of the game are based around the title. What exactly is Sakaguchi's fascination with titles that speak of the finality of his games? How could there be a Final Fantasy sequel when it was final? If there is another the Last Story, how can it be the last one?

Skylanders was a game that nobody really saw becoming a success. Plastic toys you put on a cylinder base to make them come alive on your television screen? Adults didn't get it but the kids did. Some see the release of Skylanders as the start to a next generation toy market. Activision is hoping to continue the magic and with the release of Skylanders Giants. The villainous Chaos is back from the first Skylanders and he is desperate to still take over all of Skylands. Fortunately there are the Skylanders standing in his way to stop him.
Activision is very happy. No, it isn't about Call of Duty, WoW subscriptions, or Diablo 3 pre-sale numbers. No, they are happy about Skylanders. Activision has revealed that the Skylanders toys have sold more than 30 million units and is the number one kids video game.
