Although Fuzion Frenzy, for the original Xbox, has to be one of the worst Party games I have ever played, it is still one of the most highly sought after used games. Speaking to several Gamestop stores in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, I was told that Fuzion Frenzy is sold as quickly as one finds its way into the store. Even Bill Gates himself has gone on record stating that Fuzion Frenzy is one of his favorite games. Perhaps this is why Microsoft has elected to have a sequel developed?

For a new Japanese game studio, having one great new game is an amazing feat. However, for Mistwalker, one AAA title is not enough. Trying to take the Xbox 360 on their back and carry them to market leadership in Japan, they are gearing up to release Lost Odyssey--which is as close to a Final Fantasy XIII killer as we will probably ever see on the 360.

When I learned that the creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, was creating a series of new games for the Xbox 360, I was excited. Sakaguchi was responsible for making me fall in love with the Final Fantasy franchise and it appears he is going to give me another game, and another franchise, that will become my new RPG obsession. Blue Dragon has been in development for a long time but it definitely has been worth the wait.

Cloning Clyde reminds me of 16-bit gaming in the 90's, which is a very good thing. It has the basics 2D platformers of the era: a silly premise, a character which can melee and jump, and levels that can exist only because they're part of a video game.
In Cloning Clyde you assume the role of Clyde(s) in an out-of-control genetics lab. Your main goal is to escape, all of you. Clyde and is other cloned selves basically need to make it from one end of the level to another by overcoming various obstacles and enemies.

One of the biggest films of the Summer 2006 season in Hollywood is Disney Pixar's Cars. The movie featured a world of living, breathing cars and a complete lack of all humans. THQ obtained the license for the videogames based on the film and they have done a remarkable job in creating the best game version of a Pixar film. Utilizing the resources of Rainbow Studios, Cars is a game that fans of the film will want to give a look. However, despite a very good attempt, all is not perfect in Cars.

I’ve said before that Lara Croft is like that ex you just can’t seem to stay away from no matter how many times they hurt you. For the better part of a decade now, Lara’s disappointed us time and time again, but now here we are in 2006 and the original video game hottie comes waltzing back onto the stage once more and this time she’s packing some serious substance behind her style. Tomb Raider: Legend is exactly the kind of game Ms. Croft needed to get her career back on track. Almost every facet of this game has been done masterfully by the development team at Crystal Dynamics and the result is the Tomb Raider experience the world has been waiting for.

Bioware is famous for telling incredibly deep and rich stories with great gameplay. Some of their past titles include Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate II, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, and most recently--Jade Empire. Beginning with the original Xbox, Bioware provided players with some great RPG experiences. I had great expectations when I entered into a private showing of Mass Effect behind closed doors at Microsoft’s booth. What I was shown quickly became the best game at E3 2006.

Bioshock ultimately asks the question, "how far will you go to survive?" and makes the player answer it in this- the thinking man's FPS.

Few first person shooter titles have done anything to advance the genre and bring it into unchartered territories, but then again, most of them don’t need to. It’s common gamer knowledge that blowing stuff up and shooting zombies is fun no matter what the occasion. However, it is nice to see some strides made to shake things up a bit once in awhile and that is exactly what Starbreeze is doing with their new Xbox 360 game The Darkness. You may remember Starbreeze for their work on the surprisingly good Xbox title The Chronicles of Riddick.
