Before there was the controversy of Grand Theft Auto and Hot Coffee to incite the uneducated politicians and parents all over the United States, there was a little Fighting game known as Mortal Kombat. While not as deep or engaging as Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat has always had a large following of fighting fans. When the original Mortal Kombat was released during the 16-bit era, for the home consoles, Nintendo would not allow the game to be released with blood. Midway accepted this censorship and made the characters knock the sweat off each other instead of blood. Sega, on the other hand, allowed the blood to be included in their version.

Just Cause takes place in a fictional Caribbean country, where you personally hand the country over to the rebels city by city. I'm not too sure what the story is, I'm guessing somebody needs to be taken out of power for some reason, and there are other people that need to be helped. I thought the cutscenes would help with this, but they don't. First you go in to take over a country, then you're allying with a druglord to take out another druglord for some reason. It's explained, but none of it makes sense, so you do it and we can hope there are better things to come.

A lot of people like the film Scarface. It’s a good move about a bad man. Let’s face it, Tony Montana isn’t a nice guy. I don’t quite understand why people idolize the character, as there are plenty of other strong male role models but aren’t assholes. Yup, that was a swear word. That’s just a very small hint of what it’s like to play the videogame sequel to the hit film, as it is laced with “f-bombs” left and right. That’s only appropriate though, as it is keeping with the character and the world he inhabits. Make no bones about it, Scarface was (and is) an “R” rated film for adults. Naturally the game isn’t going to be watered down – it stays very true to the source material.

Koei is well known for their Action franchise Dynasty Warriors. The franchise has appeared on a multitude of consoles and has created a large number of fans despite the fact that the series has only given slight improvements in each installment. Koei later would spin-off the Dynasty Warriors idea with the Samurai Warriors franchise. While Samurai Warriors 2 appears to be very similar to the first one, this marks the first time the franchise has appeared on the Xbox 360. For those of you new to the franchise or wanting some more Koei-inspired action, SW2 may just have something to offer you.

One of the biggest films of the Summer 2006 season in Hollywood is Disney Pixar's Cars. The movie featured a world of living, breathing cars and a complete lack of all humans. THQ obtained the license for the videogames based on the film and they have done a remarkable job in creating the best game version of a Pixar film. Utilizing the resources of Rainbow Studios, Cars is a game that fans of the film will want to give a look. However, despite a very good attempt, all is not perfect in Cars.

As the PS2's time with us begins to wane, it is surprising just how many good games continue to be released for the platform. One of the more unique games to recently hit the console is the thinking man's title Trapt. Trapt is another babefest brought to us by the fine folks at Tecmo. Now, you may be tempted to write the game off as some lame adventure game at first glance; however, once you get into it and begin toying with setting up the perfect death trap, you will see that there is more to the game than hot chicks and castles.
When I first heard the news that Sega was teaming up with Microsoft to deliver titles like Shenmue, Panzer Dragoon, Gun Valkyrie, Jet Set Radio Future, and others, I was excited about the future...
