Jack Tretton virtually showed up in Home – showing off the new Home Square. He then came out to talk about how Sony is dominating the market, with the PlayStation 2 still running strong 7 years after launch. Over 160 games are on the way to the PlayStation 2 in 2007.
Then the PSP was the focus. After dropping in price there has been a 90% increase in sales and over 140 titles on the way for the rest of the year. A few video clips of some games were shown

Tretton then showed back up in Home, with Kaz Harai on the balcony of the virtual home. Harai then appeared on stage. He announced the new PSP would be available in September. It still has the large screen, 33% lighter, 19% slimmer, with better battery life. He also hooked it up to a large screen, controlled what was seen (and how, such as pausing, fast forwarding, etc.). this will enable PSP gaming on a large screen as well.
Silver was a new color announced, but it was the next one that got the crowd excited.
The PSP Entertainment Pack will come with the Ice Silver, Daxter, and 1G Memory Stick nd UMD Family Guy Frickin’ Sweet. Star Wars Battlefront entertainment Pack comes with White PSP with Darth Vader’s image on the back and Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron.
PlayStation Network was the focus of the next part. Phil Harrison was brought out to talk about what is on the way. There are currently 80 games in development to be released by March of next year. He announced Echochrome, a puzzle game for download or PSP. The game looks like a living Escher drawing. It has to be seen to be
Wipeout HD and Pain were announced. Wipeout HD is exactly what you expect, and Pain is a physics- based game where players attempt to launch themselves throughoutthe city inflicting as much damage as possible on themselves. Warhawk and SOCOM US Navy Seals: Confrontation were both announced as being available on Blu-ray disc or online.
Harrison then talked about Home, and mentioned that the service was running on his mobile phone. While the full 3D graphics would only be featured on the PlayStation 3, Sony is looking to bring the service to mobile phones and PCs to access some of the community features while away fro the console. He then showed a clip reel showing off some of the new personal spaces that would be available for purchase – in addition to the free content available. The ability to launch any PS3 game directly from Home – and play online.
Jack Tretton came back out to talk about the PlayStation 3. There is, as one would expect, a lot of positive response to the price cut that was announced on Monday. NCSoft will be joining the PlayStation family of developers – look for several of the titles appearing on the PlayStation Network. UbiSoft is bringing Haze to the PlayStation 3 exclusively.
A new announcement with Midway and Epic to optimize the Unreal Engine for the PlayStation 3. Unreal Tournament 3 will be a PlayStation 3 exclusive this year – though he did not say simply exclusive. The game is scheduled to arrive this November.

Jack Tretton then brought out Hideo Kojima to present Metal Gear Solid 4. he mentioned that the game would be a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Kojima announced that this would be the last one for him, and the saga of Snake would end, and all mysteries would be revealed. The game is coming in early 2008 and will have a simultaneous worldwide release.
Phil Harrison then came back out to talk about other PS3 titles. Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Folklore, and Heavenly Sword were shown, as were NBA 08, LittleBigPanet and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. He announced that SuckerPunch is working on a “sandbox” game Infamous – what looks to be a story about a man who gained powers and has a choice on how to use them.
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue is coming in anticipation of Gran Turismo 5.
Then Killzone 2 was shown – actual gameplay. It looks good.
