Last year, Star Trek appeared behind closed doors to a few journalist and surprised everyone. Could someone actually make good use of the Star Trek license? Fast forward twelve months later and Namco is hosting the Star Trek Theater Experience at E3 2012 where those who brave the lengthy lines can watch a demo of the the new Star Trek game in full 3D. The game lived up to the hype as both a 3D showcase for NVIDIA's new video card and as one of the best co-op experiences seen on a screen.

After wowing attendees and those watching over Xbox Live and Spike TV, Resident Evil 6 wasn't done. No, the team had more tricks up its sleeves for their behind closed door showings of the upcoming Survival Horror title: Resident Evil 6. Specifically, they were ready to show off the multiplayer cooperative play modes with up to four players available during certain gameplay moments. For the majority of the title, you will only play with up to two players. RE6 looks to further expand its reach of dominance as the best Survival Horror title when it is released in October 2012.

The Last of Us is absolutely stunning and amazing. By far, one of the best things I have ever seen in recent memory. Naughty Dog is proving how awesome they are by taking the lessons they have learned from the Uncharted series and incorporating a completely new world, that we still know very little about, new characters, and making us forget about wanting a new Uncharted title. This will be one of the best titles in 2012 and should be on your short list for must buy games this year.
Lara Croft, the busty heroine that changed video games in the 90's is back but not in the traditional sequel. This time out, we are learning of her origin story. Lara will have to learn how to survive, how to raid tombs, how to escape from deadly traps, and how to become the legend she will transform into. Tomb Raider is a complete re-imagining of a series we all know and love.
Torchlight 2 has been in development for several years and is finally nearing the end of its development cycle. For those of you who are bored of Diablo 3 or found the game to be lacking once you reach the higher difficulty levels, Runic Games has just the cure for your Diablo 3 blues. Featuring things players want: offline mode, LAN mode, single player mode, multiplayer mode, no auction house, loot drops that matter, mod tools, and no one-hit deaths, Torchlight 2 should be the Action RPG to beat in 2012.
