By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/09/12

Japan is the home of many different genres in the gaming industry. One such genre is the Action RPG Monster Hunting that took the country by storm when Capcom released Monster Hunter and all the multitude of sequels. Monster Hunter has become so popular in the country that if a console or handheld was released without a Monster Hunter title, the Japanese people didn't purchase it. Capcom released a Monster Hunter title for the 3DS, which still isn't announced for the US, and the Vita was left out. Therefore, sales of the Vita have fallen flat while the PSP, which has a Monster Hunter, and the 3DS are still selling well.

By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/09/12

Skylanders was a game that nobody really saw becoming a success. Plastic toys you put on a cylinder base to make them come alive on your television screen? Adults didn't get it but the kids did. Some see the release of Skylanders as the start to a next generation toy market. Activision is hoping to continue the magic and with the release of Skylanders Giants. The villainous Chaos is back from the first Skylanders and he is desperate to still take over all of Skylands. Fortunately there are the Skylanders standing in his way to stop him.

Hitman Sneaking to the Sleeper Hit of '12
By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/09/12

As our journey through E3 2012 continued, we ended up at our appointment for Square-Enix. Although we enjoyed seeing Tomb Raider, I quickly made my way over to the Hitman Absolution live demo where we got a chance to take a closer look at Level 9 in the game. At this point in the story, Agent 47 has gone rogue and is looking for a lady named Victoria. We learn that a character named Lenny has info on Victoria and Agent 47 needs to get that information. Unfortunately, getting to Lenny isn't going to be as simple as dropping in to say hello.

The Wizard of Oz Pinball Surprises E3 2012
By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/05/12

I have been attending the E3 Conference since 1997. Over  the years, I have seen the dawn of online gameplay, the introduction of DVD's and Blu-rays as the primary storage, and several new consoles and handhelds. I have, however, never seen a brand new pinball game. That is until today. Jersey Jack Pinball was in the West Hall, right beside Nintendo's Booth, with the first public showing of a prototype of The Wizard of Oz pinball machine.
