GoldenEye 007: Reloaded

Developer: Eurocom Entertainment | Publisher: Activision
Players: 1+ Player Game | Genre: FPS
Release Date: Q3 2011

Are you a fan of the classic GoldenEye game? Most players look back on the Nintendo 64 title as one of the earliest examples of how to do a proper movie-based game and make a fun multiplayer experience. Though many tried to recapture the magic of Rare's James Bond game, a multitude of attempts failed by Electronic Arts and Activision lead teams. It wasn't until Activision's Wii remake of GoldenEye 007 hit Nintendo's console last year that Bond was a worthy gaming experience again. Sadly, he was stuck with non-HD graphics and without a home on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Fear not my fellow gamers. Activision has heard your cries; GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is coming to the X360 and PS3 as a High Definition version of the Wii title.

Activision was showing off the game at Comicon 2011 and several elements were shown off. PlayStation 3 owners will be in for a treat as motion controls will be included as a HD platform exclusive. This will closely mirror the Wii version in terms of control mechanics and give you yet another title to use with the SharpShooter.

GoldenEye 007 was Rated Teen for Blood, Mild Language, Mild Suggestive Themes, and Violence. As a remake of the Wii version, we fully anticipate the title being rated with the same themes--despite being in High Definition. Players will also find the four player split-screen mode making a return appearance on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. For those of you looking to forgo the splitscreen, support for up to 16 players via PSN and Xbox Live will also be available.

Besides multiplayer, the single player campaign will also be included. The environments are all being re-rendered in full HD along with the characters like Daniel Craig, as James Bond, and Judi Dench, as M. The most impressive thing about seeing this game in full HD is how much better it looks over the Wii version. Lighting, weather effects, cinematic sequences, and more are all stunning and running at 60 Frames Per Second.

If players grow tired of the single player campaign and multiplayer modes, there is a challenge designer mode that lets you customize the missions, health, enemies, and more. You can also share these with others via PSN and Xbox Live to compete for the highest score.

Golden 007: Reloaded may just be a HD remake of a Wii title, but it looks like it will provide hours of enjoyment and should have a lower ESRB rating so younger shooter fans can safely enjoy the fun. We will keep you posted as we learn more on this upcoming title for Q3 2011.
