QuakeCon 2009: RAGE Public Preview
By John Bean | 08/20/09

Ahhh.  Another QuakeCon has come and gone, leaving me with familiar sensations.  Bruises on my arm from carrying cases of Bawls to my car, a sore shoulder from one of the swag mobs I foolishly entered, and a feeling of general queasiness from eating Dominoes pizza that's spent several hours in a warming cabinet in a hotel lobby.  There's also excitement!  Well not really, but I can say that the RAGE gameplay demo did have me walking away with cautious optimism.

Post-E3 2009 Bioshock 2
By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/16/09

The original Bioshock was shown behind closed doors and although I still contend Mass Effect was a better game during that show, I was eagerly awaiting to get my hands on Bioshock 2.  Unfortunately, Bioshock 2 did not come in playable form and we were left with only a trailer of the game.  But what we saw leaves us eager for more.

Post-E3 2009: Tales of Monkey Island
By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/16/09
In one of the happiest moments of E3 2009, Telltale Games fulfilled their promise to excite their fans with the announcement that they will be releasing all-new episodic adventures of Guybrush Threepwood, Elaine Marley, and LeChuck in Tales of Monkey Island. For those of you who are completely unaware, Monkey Island is one of the most beloved PC Adventure Games of all time. The series has been long forgotten by LucasArts and the fans of the franchise all screamed for joy at the word of this announcement early on during E3 2009.

By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/07/09
In a secluded meeting room, we sat in an exclusive behind closed doors session of Reality Worlds' long awaited APB (All Points Bulletin). Earlier in the week, we learned that the title would be Published by EA under their EA Partners program. In the room, we had a chance to hear more about APB and see some of the technology and brief gameplay.

E3 2009: Harvest Moon Animal Paradise
By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/07/09

With our visit to the Natsume booth, we had to check out the latest in the Harvest Moon franchise for the Wii.  While there still is no Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version of Harvest Moon in the works, the latest for the Wii, Harvest Moon: Animal Paradise, looks to give fans even more of the cute and cuddly fun the series is known for.

E3 2009: Harvest Moon Sunshine Islands
By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/06/09
No trip to the Natsume booth would be complete without checking out the latest in the Harvest Moon world. The latest title in the DS looks as impressive as ever with Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands. We spent some time with the title during our tour around Natsume at E3 2009.

E3 2009: Afrika
By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/05/09
Afrika is a title that intrigued a lot of gamers when Sony first showed it off alongside the unveiling of the PlayStation 3. Since that time, it seemed we, in markets outside of Japan, would have little or no chance to play the title. The chances for release seemed even slimmer since Sony released the title in Japan last summer. Thankfully for gamers outside of Japan, Nantsume has picked up the rights to the title for the North America audience. We had the chance to sit down with Natsume's own Graham Markay to take a closer look at the latest build of Afrika

By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/05/09
Developer Level 5 had the second of their three planned Professor Layton titles at E3. Following closely to the formula that made the first game successful, we spent some time with Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box at E3.

E3 2009: ModNation Racers
By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/05/09
Have you ever played a Kart Racing title and thought you could make a better track? Just like LittleBig Planet allowed you to create, share, and play by yourself and with others locally and over the Internet, ModNation Racers hopes to do the same exact thing for the racing genre. We had a chance to sit down with the game during a Closed Door "Breakout Session" at E3 2009.

E3 2009: MX vs ATV Reflex
By Dominick Fleres | 06/04/09

Rainbow and THQ are working on what seems to be the best offroad racing game coming down the line this year.  The big news this time around: an improved driving engine; bigger, more lush environments to explore; and a new control scheme that will make getting on the bike (or the ATV, or any of the other vehicles in the game), and staying on the bike, more fun than ever.

E3 2009: Warhammer 40k Space Marine
By Dominick Fleres | 06/04/09

The developer, best known as a creator of real-time strategy games and, in 40K circles, as the minds behind the two Dawn of War games, is stretching its development muscles with Space Marine, which will be an action role-playing game that aims to give players an immediate and action-soaked look at the Warhammer universe.  Although no concrete gameplay was shown, producers made a point of saying that all of the footage shown in the trailer came from in-engine action, which was impressive to say the least, considering the visual quality on display.

E3 2009: Homefront
By Dominick Fleres | 06/04/09

THQ in 2009 is turning out to be one of the top studios at this years show with some of the most impressive games at the show, two of which are in the running for Best in Show.  Having one of the most popular booths for a 3rd party developer THQ is earning high marks for its upcoming list of triple "A" titles, and when allowed a special live demo of Warhammer 4000 right off the bat, I couldn't imagine how they could even top it... but thats exactly what THQ did.

E3 2009: Super Mario Galaxy 2
By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/04/09
Nintendo learned last year, at E3 08, that if you don't feed the Hardcore Nintendo nerds some juicy gaming goodness, they will bite you. After being bit repeatedly, Reggie, Cammie, and the rest of the Big N got the picture and promised to never treat E3 like their personal Casual Games Showcase. In place of Wii Music, this year we saw the surprise announcement of Super Mario Galaxy 2. While the game has no official release date and there is no playable build on the show floor, it is looking very promising.

E3 2009: The Beatles Rock Band

One of the biggest highlights of the Microsoft E3 Press Briefing was the reveal of The Beatles Rock Band.  Since being announced last fall, the game has been eagerly anticipated by both fans of the Rock Band franchise and Beatles fans. Taking center stage, The Beatles rocked our world and is by far one of the best titles of the show.

E3 2009: Alan Wake
By Kaleb Rutherford | 06/02/09

I recall seeing Alan Wake many, many years ago when Developer Remedy Entertainment had no Publisher and no more than a tech demo to show the press.  While I was impressed with what I saw way back then--we have seen virtually nothing from the game since then.  Each year, an E3 passes by and Alan Wake is rumored to be shown but sadly--it never surfaces.  E3 2009 changed all of this as the title ended up as one of the featured titles for Microsoft's E3 lineup.  The results put it up there, in the running, for Game of the Year.
