Silent Hill 4: The Room

Well, for those of you who like sequels, we have another one for you. This time around, we get to play through the eyes of Henry Townsend who was unfortunate enough to get apartment Room 302. Silent Hill 4 takes place in what is downtown USA. Poor Henry is trapped in his apartment from the inside and begins a journey that is surreal. Henry's only escape to out of his apartment is through a hole that appears in his bathroom wall. Thus, the adventures begin as you unravel what is behind Room 302.
This game is a first/third person game play. At times, you are looking through the eyes of Henry himself while for other parts of game play, you have the trusty old third person view to help you stay one step ahead of what is behind or around you. As you move along in the game, you have to keep an eye out for things you can use as weapons. But be careful because you can only carry so many weapons. Another thing is that the only storage area and saving point you get is back in good ole Room 302. Just a little side note, as you go farther into the game, your little safe haven of 302 gets nastier and at times, just as dangerous.
These things aside, graphics are smooth and detailed, while the third person view you get is a bit awkward at times. Game play picks up as you go along, with plenty of things to fight the more you go along. Fortunately there are some areas you can avoid some fighting or just run through, but this is not always going to be an option as you have to run interference and protection in the game.
Overall, there is some great game play and some spots that could use some work. For me, not having played much or any of the previous Silent Hill games helped me to dive into this world. So if you are a first time player or have followed the game from the beginning, this game can keep you on the edge of your seat.
At only twenty bucks, this game is definitely worth picking up if you haven't yet played it.
