Our Awards for the 2013 PC/Mac Game of the Year are here. Who will come home with trophies?

Overall Game of the Year - Nintendo Game of the Year - Sony Game of the Year - Xbox Game of the Year - PC/Mac Game of the Year - RPG of the Year - Handheld Game of the Year

Winner: Bioshock Infinite

The word Art is defined as the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination. For many, Art and videogames don’t go together. Videogames are seen as a game that requires pressing buttons and little or no thought. This argument could have been made many years ago but not so much anymore. With titles like The Walking Dead, Journey, and now Bioshock Infinite showing that games can be art. They can exist as interactive novels, places to explore with new forms of communication, and they can use conventional “game mechanics” and infuse a deep and thought provoking story. The latter is what Bioshock Infinite brings to the table.

Runner-up: The Wolf Among Us

Despite only having one episode available to us in 2013, The Wolf Among Us took the award-winning formula TellTale Games created in The Walking Dead Season 1, refined it, and made it the best adventure series ever seen. The first episode has mystery, action, choices to make, and plenty of fun. The best adventure series of 2013 and 2014 isn’t The Walking Dead. I would have never thought that.

Runner-up: Saints Row IV

Saint’s Row is a title that was originally developed to fill the void of no next-generation Grand Theft Auto. It did a good job but wasn't nearly as good. The sequel, Saint’s Row 2 further refined the formula but still was lacking. It wasn't until Saint’s Row III that the team at Voilition Software hit their stride and created an engaging open world game where anything and everything goes. It was fully embraced with a ton of DLC and recognized as a great open world game. Voilition Software continues their fine tradition with a direct sequel to the story events in Saint’s Row III with the fourth version of the game. This time you get to be the President of the United States. Hail to the Chief BABY!
