E3 2010 Sony Press Conference

We are live at the Shrine Auditorium for Sony's Press Conference. Also known as the "main event" of E3. We are expecting some amazing things this morning.

11:57 AM Video trailer playing with all of the latest products and devices in the Playstation lineup.

11:59 Jack Tretton, President and CEO is on stage to open the conference. He just made a poncho joke.

12:00 10 consecutive months of growth year over year. They say the PS3 is the only home console with Blu-Ray and future proof console. Sony is going to be pushing their High Definition 3D.

12:02 Kazuo Hirai is taking the stage and he speaks so much more elegantly than Tretton. Kaz says that Sony is the undisputed leader of 3D. They are ready to push the industry into 3D like they pushed them into Blu-Ray.

Sony Bravia TV's are shipping to retailers that are ready for 3D and all 35 million plus PS3 systems are already ready for 3D. 20 titles will be available in 3D by March 2011.

12:05 Killzone 3 up next. This will be a 3D demo of the fourth campaign in two sections.

12:10 The gameplay is fast and furious but still not fully sold on 3D. This may be because of the high cost of the sets.

12:12 Killzone 3 will be coming out on February 2011. They will also be fully compatible with PlayStation Move at launch.

12:15 Kaz is still trying to sell us on 3D. Another trailer is shown of upcoming games--including Gran Turismo 5 in full 3D. I would like to have some more time with 3D before being fully sold on the technology. I really hate wearing 3D glasses... all much as much as flailing my arms on the Wii or with Kinect.

12:19 Jack is back on stage now talking about the value of PlayStation 2. Price drop? Does not appear to be happening at this time.

12:20 Jack is now speaking about PlayStation Move. To describe it more, on stage is Peter Dille. Sony is promising casual and family friendly games and games for the core audience. It is about time someone remembered the life blood of the game industry.

12:22 As we have seen before, PlayStation move uses the wand and PlayStation Eye to track movements one to one.

12:23 Developer trailer on the screen talking to Developers about how they feel about the PlayStation Move.

12:24 Kevin Butler just threw down the gauntlet with Microsoft. PlayStation Move has this futuristic technology called "buttons" that allow you to actually play games like shooters and other genres. If you want to play with big red balls, go get Kinect. This is how the Kinect has failed.

12:25 Peter is back on stage promising that both Move and non-Move versions of the game can fit on a single Blu-Ray disk.

12:26 Sorcery is being shown for the first time to make use with the PlayStation Move. The game is a Third Person action game that has full one to one motion with your hand. Players flick their wand anywhere and you will blast that spell.

A potion appeared on a table and the potion has to be shaken up before it could be used. This is used, in the game, to change form. Spells can also be combined. Like a fire wall and wind pell.

The demo ends with a rock goblin attacking. Sorcery coming Spring 2011.

12:32 Andrew Wilson, of EA Sports, is on the stage to show off Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11. PlayStation Move beat Tiger with a golf club mini game?

12:38 Andre Wilson has a really hard time making Par on a hole with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11. The Move support will be made available via a software update when Move ships. But if he, the developer, had this much trouble getting par, how will us mere mortals do?

12:39 Sony showing Heroes on the Move, a new title from Sony. Ratchet, Jak, Sly, Bentley, Clank, and Daxter, are all teamed up in a new PlayStation Move title that appears to be an action Platformer.

12:40 Peter back on stage to speak about Coca-Cola;s marketing push for PlayStation Move.

12:41 Kevin Butler takes the stage and kicks Peter off. Kevin just said there was a sale on Blue Ponchos and there was a crazy French dancing act. Kevin Butler says it is all about the games. Kevin says he loves gaming.

Gaming is owning a ridiculously large TV in a one room apartment. Kevin wants everyone to get a taste the PS3 Sugar. PlayStation Move is not just for casual but for the hardcore.

Mii jokes about no arms and necks.

12:45 Kevin Butler bow and arrow move ad behind Kevin music playing in the background.

12:47 Exit Kevin Butler and enter Peter again.

$99.99 for the PS3 Eye, Move, and Sports Champion.

LittleBig Planet 2 can make any type of game. Today we are going to see Driving, Puzzlers, and Sports game creation. We see a simple button mashing game that lasts about 2 minutes. Another demo shows an over the top bumper car game. If you hit the side you lose potions. The X button is mapped to a speed burst. Finally, there is an action shooter. Games can be created in 24 hours. This is going to completely change the way LittleBig Planet levels are created

1:37 Gran Turismo 5 is now being shown on screen and it sounds like we might actually get to play it soon. The title is coming on November 2, 2010. Both 3D and 2D available on a single disk.

1:40 inFamous 2 is now being shown. Much more action focussed with new freezing powers? The title will be coming in 2011. Probably a summer or fall title of 2011?
