Players: 1+ Player Game | Genre: Undefined
Release Date: 02/27/07
Back in 2007, Sony released one of their first unique gaming experiences on the PlayStation Network known as flOw. This PlayStation 3 exclusive title gathered much attention and gave PS3 owners something cool to play that no other console offered. Now Sony is bringing the experience over to its PlayStation Portable next month.
The one glaring change of flOw on the PSP is the lack of Sixaxis. When I first heard about the plans to bring flOw to the handheld platform, I wondered if some sort of motion device was going to be added to the console. While this would have been a very interesting add-on, the cost and relatively few uses for the device would have ultimately made it not worth the expense for Sony. Instead, players on the PSP will utilize the Analog nub. The d-pad is not able to be used
The world of flOw on the PSP will seem almost identical, despite the control issues mentioned above, to the PS3 version. However, another difference is the scaled down feel of the game. The organisms you need to eat are all much smaller and it can make finding them a little bit more of a challenge than it was on your huge TV.
flOw will be available for the PSP as a download title on the PlayStation store starting on March 6, 2008. No details about pricing or if a UMD version will be available later. If you are looking for a slightly different experience on your Sony portable and haven't had a chance to check out flOw on the PlayStation 3, the portable version may be the game for you. Stay tuned for more details on flOw as we learn more from Sony.
