M3: My Morning Musings - PS4 Sales, Dead Rising Framerate Issues, & More

Sony has revealed that they sold a million consoles within the first 24 hours of availability for the PlayStation 4. Andrew House of SCEA had this to say:
“PS4 was designed with an unwavering commitment to gamers, and we are thrilled that consumer reaction has been so phenomenal. Sales remain very strong in North America, and we expect continued enthusiasm as we launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe and Latin America on November 29. We are extremely grateful for the passion of PlayStation fans and thank them for their continued support."

PlayStation 4 is off to an awesome start—especially compared to the two months it took the PS3 to reach a million units.

Square-Enix has announced that Final Fantasy X & Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster is coming to PlayStation 3 on March 18, 2014 in North America. To celebrate the announcement of a new release date, which was supposed to be out in 2013 originally, Squeenix has a new trailer for us. You can view it below:

The PlayStation Vita release date was not announced but we assume it is coming out the same day as well. Should this change, we will let you know.

Dead Rising 3 is coming for Xbox One when it launches on Friday. The game was very problematic at E3 2013. Since then, the resolution has been dropped to 720p and the team has dropped the framerate to 30fps. However, Eurogamer has noted that the game lacks polish and whenever a multitude of zombies appear—-something that occurs quite often in the title and series—-the framerate drops to as low as 16 frames per second and staying around 20 frames at most times.

They note that while the game performs better than at E3, it still has a long ways to go to be what it was promised to be. Sounds like it might not happen with a release this Friday.

Minecraft is still on target to come to the PlayStation Vita. Though a release date is not known, it has been confirmed by Jens Bergernsten of Mojang that the PlayStation Vita version will be the full version of Minecraft and not the Pocket Edition.

This should lay to rest many rumors that players have been throwing around.
