VGX 2014 Live Stream

Here is the stream from the 2014 VGX Award Show from Spike TV.

Some of the big announcements from the show include:

  • Tales from The Borderlands is coming from TellTale Games. This is going to be a story driven game based in the world of Gearbox's hit Borderlands and will feature new and old characters from the series.
  • Tomb Raider Remade and Reborn for the next-generation consoles in Tomb Raider Definitive Edition at the end of January 2014. Crystal Dynamics and two other studios have been working on porting the game to the next-gen over the last 12 months. 
  • Best Action Adventure Game goes to Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag.
  • Reggie, from Nintendo, announced that Cranky Kong will be a playable in Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze coming February 21, 2014.
  • Best Sports Game goes to NBA 2K14.
  • Remedy shows Quantum Break gameplay for the first time and they confirm this is an Action game. They also show off an iOS game due out in early 2014.
  • Game of the Year, which was announced in hour two of the VGX Awards, goes to Grand Theft Auto V.
  • Elijah Wood will star in the upcoming Adventure Game, The Broken, from Tim Schaefer's Kickstarter.
  • Best Indie Game goes to Gone Home.
  • TellTale Games is bringing Game of Thrones out in 2014 in an episodic format based on the TV license and not the books. The game is made in partnership with HBO. 
  • No Man's Sky, from Hello Games, is shown for the first time. This is the Indie Studios first next-gen title that will be about exploration and allows you to fly and go anywhere. There can be combat anywhere you go and it will take place from the First Person perspective.
  • Best Shooter goes to Bioshock Infinite.
  • Studio of the Year goes to Naughty Dog
