World of Tanks: Blitz First Look

Developer: Wargaming.net | Publisher: Wargaming.net
Players: 1+ Player Game | Genre: Action

Release Date: TBD

Today at E3, I got some hands-on time with World of Tanks Blitz, the mobile port of Wargaming.net’s heavily popular game of the same title, minus the Blitz part. Wargaming.net has already successfully ported this game to Xbox 360, and has had a lot of success with it, both with getting even more players interested in the game, and smoothly managing to port the game. So, needless to say, they did a pretty dang good job porting it to the mobile platforms.

Though still very true to it’s roots, World of Tanks Blitz takes a more fast-paced approach to the game. The matches are comprised of 7 vs. 7, and though there are fewer players on the map, the game is still just as action packed on mobile devices as it is on the computer or Xbox 360.

We were shown that the control interface on mobile devices is very intuitive, and customizable--allowing you to adjust the size and positioning of everything the interface offers. World of Tanks Blitz still incorporates all the same functions and features that are present on computer and Xbox 360--from your consumables, to all the different types of shells, to items. Fundamentally, WoTB is nearly the exact same game, except, now, it is going to be available in the palm of your hands and you’ll have 90 of the tanks you know and love available to play at launch.

Oh! Not to mention, you don’t have to make a separate account for WoTB, either--it’s still the same Wargaming.net account that you’ve been using for all their other awesome games. I hope you’re looking forward to this as much as I am, because it’s going to be a blast.
