Sonic Mania Review

Sonic Mania brings in the things that I loved about the classic Sonic franchise, but with all new levels and experiences. Released on the Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and PC on August 15, 2017, with a $20 price tag, it was an impulse buy, but one that I definitely do not regret. I personally have been playing on the Nintendo Switch and have loved every moment of it!

Splatoon 2 Review

Splatoon 2 is an action-packed game that reminds me of the combination of paintball and an arcade shooter. I should mention that I never had the chance to play the first Splatoon. So this review is not in comparison to the original, but more so as someone new to the franchise. Since the Wii U had such poor sales, I am sure that there are several people in this same position.

Kingdom Hearts Unchained X Review

Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts Unchained X (KHUx) released originally released in Japan in September of 2015 and came to North America in April of 2016 as an iOS and Android mobile game. By combining iconic Disney and Kingdom Hearts characters with the turn based battles, KHUx allows even the newest of fans a chance to enjoy the franchise. Step into a world where you yourself become a keyblade wielder as you learn about a world prior to the Keyblade War. There are many things that I find myself liking and disliking as I play the game. However as someone who never really invested into Kingdom Hearts, I find myself continually wanting to open the game and play a quick level to see what I can unlock next.

Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens Review

Once again Lego has produced a fantastic game that is sure to please the Lego and Star Wars fans alike. Travel through space as you play as some of your favorite Star Wars characters, as well as some of the iconic Force Awakens vehicles like the Millennium Falcon and Rey’s Speeder. There were a few moments that I felt as if the story was not moving fast enough. I feel that is because of several reasons.

Tales from the Borderlands Review

Bringing a new story to the pandemonium, over the top situations, and the chaos of Pandora comes Tales from the Borderlands, a five-episode story created by Telltale Games.  Tales from the Borderlands takes place after events in Borderlands 2--only this time you find yourself following the footsteps of an up and coming employee and his friend of the Hyperion company.  Beware though, if you have not played through all of Borderlands 2, some spoilers may be seen or heard.  It is available on PC, Android, iOS, OS X, Playstation 3 and PlayStation 4, and Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Skylanders Superchargers

Activision was the first company to introduce the Toys to Life genre to the world with Skylanders and each year they find a way to reinvent the formula and release a new entry in the popular game. This year, that innovation is vehicles: Land, Air, and Sea.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Review

Bandits, and griffins, and witches! OH MY! These are a few foes you will encounter in this epic tale of mystery, adventure, and romance. Geralt of Rivia returns to find his missing protégé while ridding the towns of bandits and scary monsters along the way. WARNING! This review is that of my own opinion and should be noted any previous games involving the title Witcher have not been played; therefore, giving me an unbiased and open opinion.

Spirits of Xanadu Review

You board the Xanadu darkness your only greeting.  With flashlight and gun in hand, you peruse the corridors of the silent ship.  Where is the crew?  Small clues are your only resource to solve this mystery.  An order here, an audio file there alone they make no sense perhaps putting them in order will help.  But how?  As you move along eerie sounds assault your ears, is that a footstep?  Is someone there?  Movement catches your eye; you go to investigate, but nothing is there!  Or is there?  Suddenly shots are fired!  You are fighting for your life!  What is happening?  Will you survive or will you find a lonely death on a seemingly deserted ship floating in space.

Imagine, if you will, space, a ship in distress—-a mission of rescue and discovery.  Inside the ship all is dark. A briefcase and audio file are the first clues to help with the mission.  Armed with a flashlight and gun, you wander the dark and silent corridors.

Block Story Review

Taking a cue from games such as Minecraft and Terraria, MindBlock Studio brings forth Block Story a 3D first person sand box world where one can have adventures, explore to find hidden cities, create great works and even shape the world to the players amusement.  The player can even make epic monsters such as dragons to destroy the world created or have an epic battle to the death!  Players will also find they level as they find special ores, battle monsters or simply explore and find new things.  You are given so many points each level to place into stats such as mine faster, more health etc.

Watch Dogs Review

‘Everything is connected...’ In the world of Watch Dogs everything is connected, and impacts different aspects of the game. Playing Watch Dogs, you take the role of Aiden Pearce, a hacker turned vigilante after a hitman is sent after him and his loved ones as revenge for one of his attempted hacks, and the only person to survive a devastating car crash caused by the hitman is himself. I say ‘attempted hack’ because that’s exactly what it was, merely attempted, and you will play the rest of the game, in the end, to eventually find out what exactly Aiden was going to uncover if the hack had been successfully completed, as well the person whom was responsible for sending the hitman--with plenty of plot twists and turns along the way.

The Wolf Among Us Episode 4 Review

After nearly dying in the last episode, Bigby is in pretty rough shape as Episode 4, In Sheep’s Clothing, begins. His arm is set by a doctor and silver bullets are dug out of him as Snow frantically watches on. Having your arm set--with the bone sticking out--is not something that I found easy to watch. Whats worse is you are warned that if Bigby continues to act in an aggressive manner, he may just end up killing himself.

Mario Kart 8 Review

Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach, and the whole gang are back and this time they are strapped into their favorite karts and racing down streets, upside down, underwater, and even upside down to become the ultimate champion in Mario Kart 8.  The Wii U has been lacking software lately and nothing results in S A L E S like a new Mario Kart game.  The franchise has sold over 100 million units and the latest hopes to continue the success.
